Hi, I’m Jane.

I’m a coach because I’ve always kind of been a coach. I keep circling back to it in different ways:

  • I was a university tennis coach, in which I coached players athletically, but arguably was even more focused on personal coaching.

  • I have a counseling degree and worked over a number of years as a counselor in residential settings, as a college counselor, as a certified drug and alcohol counselor, in addition to a private counseling practice.

  • I’ve been an active 12-step sponsor with many sponsees for more than 15 years, and a go-to friend to many.

What I believe also qualifies me to be a coach is my own experience. I have been walking a healing path for 20+ years. I am a trauma survivor, have navigated a lot of healing surrounding my family of origin, redefining old stories and discovering my authentic self. My journey has included therapy, coaching, 12-steps, and spirituality. I am very open to different avenues of healing and believe every person’s journey is unique.

I am also…

  • Spiritual (but not religious specifically)

  • Gay and an LGBTQIA+ ally

  • ex-Competitive high-level athlete

  • A Gardener & Garden Designer (check out my other business: Paterson’s Gardenscapes)

  • A dog & cat mom – I’m big fan of animals

  • A nature lover - hiking, picnicking, beaching, camping

  • An explorer - I like adventuring with no particular destination

What really matters is how I show up for you.

  • I am Empathetic - I am walking with you on this journey. And I get it.

  • I am Welcoming & Accepting - people feel at ease with me, able to be vulnerable and take off their armor.

  • I am Communicative - I have a conversational approach that draws people out and goes deeper.

  • I am Insightful – I am to see underneath the surface and help you to see more clearly.

  • I am Direct yet Caring - I provide gentle guidance and am willing to push when needed.

About the Logo

This logo is a replica of a tattoo that I designed to represent and honor my journey. The circular element represents my life; where it is interrupted represents significant challenges I’ve encountered. The diagonal slashes through the circle differentiate my journey before and after healing and recovery. The radiating spokes represent my growth in a multitude of areas and ultimately, the flowers blossom and disperse, representing my growth and expansion beyond the limited box I had caged myself in. It feels appropriate for this to be the graphic representation of my coaching practice because this is the work I help my clients do.
